Thrift Stores.

Last month I did a post and told of my favorite haunts or places I love to shop and find downright unbelievable prices on things for our family or home. I thought I would do an individual post on each of those places highlighting them and showing some examples of great things that can be found here in Charlotte and the surrounding areas.

So, today I am highlighting with photos of what I have found from many visits over time to what has become one of my MOST favorite tiny thrift shops to drop in and check out. ***they also get fresh baked, wrapped leftover goodies turned in from Starbucks and Panera and Pizza Hut, which I grab up for my hungry crew. (.50 donation jar for these)

Matthews Help Center - Back Porch Treasures

Here is a link that tells all about the services they offer to the community to aid and counsel people who are in need. It is a wonderful help to the area and their pantry helps out many many families! And of course their thrifty shop is the best treat.

Tole trays (when you're lucky)

Mirrors (this one I painted red for a porch!)

Glassware

(waiting for this years batch of dried hydrangeas)...

Decorative dishes

all kinds of floral swags, sprays and bouquets

Frames

Silverware/Flatware

Linens/Fabrics/Window and shower curtains

If any of you walked into my home, just about everything you see would be thrifted from somewhere. Everything above ranged from .25 up to 5.00.
Nothing Over that amount! Works for my budget from my earnings, so that I do not have to use my hubby's hard earned earnings needed for our family bills and needs.
These are just samples of what you can find on any given day. **( I just got five summer shirts for $10.00 this past week, and this past Fall I found Kurt an awesome brown leather Bomber Jacket for $15.00. He loves it.)
You can tell why this little local shop is one of my favorites, yes????? I will always get excited about "talking THRIFT!" :-)

Have you found some little places to go treasure hunting, walking in with rainy day change and walking out with a deal and a smile????

I have arrived to the point now that I rarely ever shop Retail anymore....

I'll share about some other favorite places in future Thursday posts down the road...

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit here. It is fun to share with you, and also to empathize, laugh, cry and pray with you...

Keep praying for our guys and gals over there giving it all they've got for our safety and freedoms over here at home. God Bless America and her troops!

Hugs and hoping God's Best to all passing through.

I'd go to that one with the Panera goodies just for that! Aren't thriftstores great! My home is the same way, almost everything is thrifted or at least bought at a discount. You have two tole trays I don't! I've been looking and looking for that bunny one in particular!

Hi Julie! You really do have some great thrifty stores near you! We have a lovely one down the road where all of the proceeds go to breast cancer research. It was started by a woman who lost her sister to this terrible disease and now they have two locations. Just catching up with your posts and want to say that I am praying for you and your mom during her journey with cancer. It has touched my extended family twice during the last year. Also, hooray that you heard from your son! God bless him. Have a wonderful weekend! xx Suzanne PS: Thank you for your sweet comments....they mean the world.

Hi Julie! When we were visiting there recently, my sister-in-law took us to some amazing consignment shops as well as some thrift stores. I did pick up a few treasures that were both under $2...loved it! I too am addicted to thrift stores, partly because I have to drive so far for retail stores like Target or T.J.Maxx (50 miles!). Can't believe all the deals you have down there! Loved seeing all of your wonderful treasures! ~Lili

Very nice finds Julie... My home if full of thrifted treasures too. It is some sort of therapy going to second hand stores. Love the lamps and the red shades. ;-)
