In Honor..

My E-journal Entry - May 31, 2010

A Year In Review...

With Honor, Joy, Pride and Prayers...

God Speed Lance Corporal Justin.

God bless all of our defending men and women standing tall and courageous in the military forces of America.

God Bless America.

***To help re-educate and remind Americans of the true meaning of Memorial Day, the "National Moment of Remembrance" resolution was passed on Dec 2000 which asks that at 3 p.m. local time, for all Americans "To voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence or listening to "Taps."

What will you be doing at 3 pm? What are you remembering and celebrating today?

Today I pray for many..., by name, whom I know are giving their all every day to defend my rights and freedoms. God protect them and bring them home. Honoring them....

Thanks for stopping by. Have a safe holiday! God Bless.

Just Because...

Today I am posting this song, just because....
It was one of the favorites that Justin learned and liked to sing when he was in boot camp attending Chapel on Sundays.

I am missing him today. I will sing this song with Twila Paris, and think of him. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday wherever you are, that you get time to rest, recharge, and sing like no one is listening... I am. :-)

"Behold he comes, Riding on the clouds , shining like the sun, at the trumpet call.
Lift your voice , It's the year of Jubilee, and out of Zion's hills salvation comes!
There is no God like Jehovah."

God's very Best blessings to you all today, and Hugs from me.

Memorial Day Weekend 2010

Happy Memorial Day weekend to all of you passing through.
May you have a wonderful time of rest and recreation with family or friends...

My front door view - Memorial Day weekend 2010

May we all remember as we smile and have fun that we still live in the greatest nation in the world. All of the pleasures and freedoms we have to do what we wish are because there is no one over us to oppress those pleasures and rights that are ours simply by living in a country where the people can have a voice...a say.

God bless the ones who are WILLING to set aside - to sacrifice - for a time in their young lives - all of those pleasures and freedoms - and GO ....to another land - to take out...to remove from power...the very ones who would like to come and oppress our people if given the chance.

God bless our military ...God bless America.
We are still one nation...under God....THANK GOD. May He never remove His Hand that overshadows our nation and blesses it and protects it. Pray....America....Pray...

Old Glory Patriotism brought to you courtesy of the Woodberry Canine Marine Corp supporter Devil Dawgs... both past and present ones....

RAH! Stay Strong my honorable Justin.. God protect you!

White Wednesdays

“Home is the most popular, and will be the most enduring of all earthly establishments.” Channing Pollock

Since I got a couple of things done last weekend, I thought I'd go ahead and post - "journal"... here about them, so that my blogpost will be close to the completions, just for the record, when I look back one day. :-)

Joining up on a party post with Kathleen over at her White Wednesday regulars...
Love to see all the bloggers over there. Here's the link, if anybody wants to go on over and visit her at Faded Charm:
http://fadedcharmcottage.blogspot.com/

Here's one thing that got tackled... Remember this Craig's List treasure in a post back around the first of March???

Well, I finally got it moved in! It is just leaning...not attached. May stay that way for a while. There's no fireplace so I might would take it with me if we ever move. It came out of an old house that was demolished in a historical section of Charlotte. For now, here she rests... A place to hang stockings this Christmas away from the REAL fires and sparks! woot!

I added the decorative embellishment in the center. A brass find at the thrift shop last Fall, Splatter painted it white and hung it. Still thinking about what to do in the opening. That will take a while and a bit of pondering. For now a table will sit there.

This chandy was brass. I took it down and with Kurt helping to hold it, finally got it spray painted Heirloom White. (been meaning to do this for quite a while.) I added some crystals and beads and glitter berries at the top. It now has more of a cottagey feel to it which I like. (not so formal)

This lovely little white roses and hydrangea resin wreath was at the thrift store and I loved it as soon as I laid eyes on it. And for .99 I decided it was a good deal.

And this little baby doll is my Rob Roy posing for White Wednesday. He is really Justin's "Woobie". Justin gave Woobie a Marine name after he went to LeJeune... "Lone-Wolf" - This pup misses his Marine.... We tell him constantly that Justin will be back soon to visit on weekends...!!

Thanks for popping in today to visit. Bloggy friends are wonderful and encouraging.

Still waiting........

Have a great Wednesday! Hugs to all.
**Going with my mom and dad to talk to her Cancer doctor and Hospice nurse about her MRI she had done yesterday. Thanks for praying for all of us. Blessings to you all!

Tuesday's ounce of cheer

Do small things make you smile? Can you glance at a Favorite Thing in your daily routine and have a little smile erupt inside or outside? What cheers you?

Thought For the Day.. from Proverbs 31:25-27 on a godly woman:

"She is clothed with strength and dignity,
and she laughs without fear of the future.
When she speaks, her words are wise,
and she gives instructions with kindness.
She carefully watches everything in her household
and suffers nothing from laziness."

Thanks to all who passed through today. God's best blessings to you...thanks for your partnering with us to pray for our military men and women sacrificing on our behalf every day.
