Fun With Frames...Outside the Box Ideas...

Frame: a rigid structure that surrounds something such as a picture, door... a border or case for enclosing artwork, a mirror, etc. 2. a rigid structure formed of relatively slender pieces, joined so as to surround sizable empty spaces..

"surrounding empty spaces"

So other than the norm...the ordinary uses...the expected framing projects, what else do YOU do with frames ??

A pretty little "what-not" table tray?

Give definition to another display of art?

Enclose some WALL WORDS?

Top an unframed Mirror and surround another mirror?

Finish off a crafted Fabric creation?

Give some back-up to a Dish Display?

Add an element of chippy "vintage" to some rustic comtemporary art?

Top and embellish a Table? (formerly framed and covered a mirror)

Surround a Plate? (wrought iron frames count too! originally held wooden plaque)

Don't Forget Window Frames...

Create a Table Top Shadow-Box display?

Frame Photos and Sayings.

So many ideas and uses for an empty frame. Here are a couple of on-line photos showing frames as ceiling medallions.... Neat! I like this use. I'm sure I'll experiment with this one day.

So when you see a frame you really like, (but NOT what it is surrounding) think outside the box. Get the Frame, Toss the art. Get CREATIVE! :-) :-)

FRAME FUN! Something to think about on this snowy day. Still coming down here in Cedar Rapids today.

Hope you ALL have a wonderful day, whatever the weather. Rain, Snow, Sleet, Sunshine, Clouds....Have fun in the nest when you don't want to go OUT of it.

Hi Julie, Glad to see your post. I think you missed your calling (interior designer). I had fun this morning looking at the moving images of the dogs you have loved over the years. I am relaxing in my nest, but the snow is slowing down (or is that just wishful thinking) - and I need to go out and work on snow removal (again). I'm okay with it, though. The exercise is good and nesting is very enjoyable.

Gorgeous uses for frames! I have lots of frames boxed up that I need to go thru and find a use for them:) Thank you for those ideas! Have a blessed day my friend, stay warm! HUGS!

Wow! So many uses, and I thought I was clever! I agree, you should've become an interior designer. Your home is so pretty and welcoming.
Hugs!

Those are all cute ideas for using frames. I especially like the platter with the frame!

It's really cold here with a few snowflakes now and then (which sadly are not sticking).

Excellent blog! Do you have any tips for aspiring writers?
I'm planning to start my own website soon but I'm a little
lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go for a paid option?
There are so many choices out there that I'm totally confused .. Any recommendations? Appreciate it!

Hello- how are you? I hope you are thawed out and spring is happening for you. I know you haven't posted for awhile and I haven't heard from you for a bit, just wanted to check in. My dad died last week and his funeral was yesterday, thank you for your prayers for him, but he is fine now on the other side in the arms of Jesus!

There is always a case to be made for a larger monitor to better enjoy the web, and
the Ben - Q EW2420HD is certainly on my list for combining
two HDMI ports, full HD (I have no time for HD-ready devices), an attractive bezel, and
a price on the right side of $300. 6 ounces, is a light at all so easily
held with one hand and easy to carry in your bag.

When spending $200 dollars on anything, it gets hard to complain about
the shortcomings.

The recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy tab looks set
to rival the popular Apple i - Pad. A whole host of image
enhancing features is provided as standard which allows users
to manipulate and edit images and videos, including autofocus, touch-focus, face & smile detection
as well as geo-tagging which functions based on GPS.
It's just a minor annoyance, because the tablet can fit in one hand, and therefore always stay directed to the user.

Love the frame ideas. That reminds me I spotted a frame in the thrift store today, picked it up and then set it down again. I think I'll go back for it, it's quite an ugly fake wood, but painted I think it would be nice.
