LOVE ME...LOVE MY DOG

Oh, but anyway, Toto, we're home. Home! And this is my room, and you're all here. And I'm not gonna leave here ever, ever again, because I love you all, and - oh, Auntie Em - there's no place like home! ~ Dorothy (Wizard Of Oz)

"We give dogs love we can spare, time we can spare and room we can spare. In return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made." -- Mary Focklam

"There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face." -- Ben Williams

Tis sweet to hear the watch dogs' honest bark bay deep-mouthed welcome as we draw near home;
'Tis sweet to know there is an eye will mark our coming and look brighter when we come. - Lord Byron, Don Juan

Histories are more full of examples of the fidelity of dogs than of friends.
Alexander Pope

"No man can be condemned for owning a dog. As long as he has a dog, he has a friend; and the poorer he gets, the better friend he has." --Will Rogers

Blessed is the person who has earned the love of an old dog. --Sidney Jeanne Seward

**Justin at Parris Island....Woobie watching, watching and waiting....

**Reunited with the new Marine, 4 months later.

**saying goodbye again before deployment.

**once again, watching watching waiting....

**7 loong months later...reunited with his hero master.
"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion". .... Unknown

"The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog. A man's dog stands by him in prosperity and poverty, in health and sickness. He will sleep on the cold ground where the wintry winds blow and the snow drives fiercely, if only he may be near his master's side. He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer, he will lick the wounds and sores that come in encounter with the roughness of the world. He guards the sleep of his pauper master as if he were a prince. When all other friends desert he remains. When riches take wings and reputation falls to pieces, he is as constant in his love as the sun in its journey through the heavens". . .... Unknown

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

From one dog lover to another, this is one
of the sweetest things I've ever read
about dogs. Every word is true. What a
wonderful gift from God a dog is! And
your babies are just beautiful.
Hugs,
Sandy

Gosh, this makes
me cry....they DO
give us their all,
and I fear not matter
how much that I try,
I will always come
up short, in return.
Beautiful post, Julie.
It is comforting to
know that with your
pups, you are never truly
alone at home, even when
your heart is in different
places. Sending you big
hugs, today!!

Hello, Julie!
What a precious post this is. I sit hear with tears running down my cheeks. I could easily put Wilma's name in any/all of the quotes you used. Surely do miss her. I have a piece of writing I am working on that will eventually show up on one of the blogs. Thank you for this WONDERFUL post, my friend.

Oh Julie this made me really miss our sweet big dog Bo, who's been gone for almost 3 years. There is just nothing like the experience of loyalty and love from our sweet furry companions. Your pictures just tell the most poignant of stories. Thanks for posting! xoxo ~Lili

Dogs are very well-known for their loyalty! I feel so blessed to have my dog Jazul, which I treat like my own child. With her around, I no longer have and find any reason to feel alone.

Like what Macy said, dogs are the most loyal creatures you’ll ever know! My dog also stays by my side all the time and she comforts and loves me unconditionally. I’m really grateful that she found me!
