WAITING...

I love kids...

I love animals...

Naturally, I am drawn to prints that combine the two.

Last month I was in the Goodwill, and this print was stacked behind a bunch of other framed art. It was in one of those poster frames with plexi-glass and the gold plastic clip on edges. Oh my...such an unbefitting choice.

Yes, this was one of those treasures sitting in a thrifted corner, calling out to me.

I love the little boy in the sailor outfit. Look at this precious face.

The tag said $1.99. Sold.

True to my habit and my budget, I then set it aside in the closet and began the wait. Watching the thrift stores for a frame with or without matting that would fit the print. This past weekend...I found it. (always carry a tape measure in your purse!) Very ugly painting, but perfect blue mat in the perfect size (ugly chipped brown) large frame. Tag said 3.99. Sold.

I brought the frame home, took it apart, cleaned the glass. Painted the frame white...put it all back together.

This is my newest treasure in my Master bath. The blue mat matches perfectly.
So for 6.00 and some elbow grease, I have a precious little sailor boy with his two adorable pups gracing my walls. Makes me smile...truly.

So besides my treasure find ~ what is today's post really about?

I love my kids...

I love my dogs...

I love blue-and-white combined.

I love art that makes me smile, that touches my heart.

I LOVE finding a DEAL and a treasure in a thrift/resale shop.

I am continuously learning the art of the term...."Wait For It."

Whether it is for a material item, or an answered prayer, or an unveiling of God's plan for my life journey, I have found that most of life is about "waiting" for something...a tool, used by God's grace, to develop PATIENCE in my daily walk.

What do you find yourself waiting on today? Are you mastering the virtue of patience and longsuffering?

"Wait on the LORD;Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!" (Psalm 27:14)

“And now, Lord, what do I wait for?My hope is in You." (Psalm 39:7)

"Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me."( Micah 7:7)

And I am SOOOOOOOO waiting for the day I can get my arms around my man again.

Waiting....Waiting....Waiting... I love my man...my hero.

Have a blessed day...all who stop by...whatever you are waiting on, I hope that you are growing stronger each day as you watch for the answer... Sending little showers of hugs and happy hearts your way...

What a precious love-filled post, Julie!
I love everything about it! The picture
is darling. I love kids and animals too.
I love my man too and I'm glad he's not
far, far away like yours. I will be happy
when you are together again. And I am so,
so, so learning to wait upon the Lord for
all the good things He has promised.
Hugs,
Sandy

Waiting is not what I do best. :-) But I have lived long enough to know that sometimes there is nothing one can do except wait.
The frame is perfect for that picture!! Did you stencil the wall behind it, or is that a wallpaper?

I loved this post
from beginning to
end....Imagine that
little guy's story...
his family, his dogs,
his hopes and dreams...
his life. It would
be amazing to know,
since everyone has a
story. Thank you for
being so wise and for
the bible verses that
I particularly needed
to hear, today. Love
you, girl!

It's not in my genetic makeup ~ I get very cranky when I have to wait or when I am kept waiting!! Having a son away in the Marine Corps has made me a little less Type A ~ Semper Gumby!! Waiting.... I know a thing or two about that, lol. It has been a long journey, it hasn't been easy but I'm learning, slowly, but learning to wait in Our Lord.
Read the previous post, I never get tired of admiring our beautiful earth, it's just amazing, a sunrise, a sunset, flowers, the morning light.
Take care my friend, hugs and blessings.
