More Before and After - Metamorphosis Monday

Having so much fun perusing the before and after transformations that take place in the homes of so many creative women. Susan @ Between Naps On the Porch provides this post every Monday. I'm participating with some quickies today. Jump over there when you can and have fun getting ideas to change things for the better (using what you've got, and a little elbow grease!)

NUMBER ONE
Before:

these were in the DARK panelled family room....leftovers from when it was jewel-toned colors and hunt scene prints.- they were shuffled to the garage- (shutters courtesy of a neighbor tossing them after getting new ones.)

After:

Black spray paint,- two barn stars moved from the Dining Room, Framing one of my favorite prints by Robert Duncan, An April Storm.

NUMBER TWO
Before:

Old lamp from the family room getting pretty tired looking and out of date with the vintage costume jewelry "embellishments"

After:

White spray paint - Cute little lamp shade from Goodwill (.99) nice change....amazing what a different color will do to lighten things up.

NUMBER THREE
Before:
NO Before shot....SHAME on me. This mailbox was off white with a faded undetectable painted scene of a garden. It was beyond even a "shabby chic" look. It was tacky and neglected looking.
After:

Black spray paint - a large USMC symbol auto decal - VERY sharp looking and VERY much communicating to all who pass by how much we support our dedicated MARINE CORP and our much loved Marine son.

NUMBER FOUR
Before: :-( Again, no before. This was a little domed cheese board (well-used) I found at Goodwill (1.99)

After:

Leftover black spray paint - jewelled fruit/berry mini wreath, strand of my Grandmother's costume tasseled pearls, small artichoke finial. Sweet display for the Dining Room.

Simple NUMBER FIVE- because Susan is showcasing the difference a pretty tassel can make and referring you to a GIVEAWAY!
Before:

Display case in Living Room

After:

One new tassel...found at my favorite little independent thrift shop ($1.00)

That's all for this time. Click on the LINK at the top of this post and hop over to get in on the fun of just looking, or adding your own transformations.

Can't close today's post without saying how much we ENJOYED having our Marine, Justin, home for the holiday! So short but SO sweet.

with his favorite little "Woobie".

And a plug for a delicious recipe for a morning treat with coffee.... I made this while Justin was here.

thanks so much for sharing this recipe, Becky. Anyone who wants to try it, go to this link. (copy and paste)

I think the cheese board/cloche is the best of all--except of course having your son home. Tell him thanks for his service ( and to you to :)!
