It's been three weeks since I did a thrifty post...
I am participating in Leigh's THRIFTY THURSDAY party and Holly's THRIFT STORE THURSDAY today. So jump over and see all the neat and fun deals and treasures, and join in yourself.

THRIFTY - Practicing, or marked by the practice of thrift; wisely economical, frugality.
FRUGAL - Costing little; inexpensive
So, there you go. What do you have to show for your practice of "thrift-shopping" whether it be for necessities and needs....or... just for your fun side, not so much a need, but just a "happiness"?
Share it! Inspire others to do the same. Those of us who have practiced this our entire lives sit back and grin when we see others who are catching on to the joy and satisfaction of being wise with the monies.... :-)
How little can you get away with spending, and how much can you walk away with? Enjoy the thrill of the hunt...and ... be willing to wait!
definitely not falling under a "need", but this big birdcage is my latest favorite cheap "whimsy" find at Goodwill. Fits into my nesting instinct. (27" high)
remember that black and white bathroom I'm planning on doing in the future?
(Goodwill)
little oil dispenser- so much easier than getting the bottle out every time, unscrewing the lid, pouring, replacing lid and putting back in cabinet... and so cute. (favorite little thrift shop down the road)
concrete acorn finials "chippy"... perfect for what I have always wanted for these columns- (same little thrift shop)
pretty sweater for church. Love the button! (goodwill)
Those who know my love for dogs will know why I grabbed this! (goodwill)
My vignette (growing collection) of silver frames.(goodwill and thrift) The mixed- drink shaker in the rear is simply for whimsy... will make a good vase. got it at the yard sale mentioned below.
Waverly Garden Room scalloped Queen bedcover. -seen from afar at a yard sale while walking a client's dogs one Saturday morning. On the ground just about covered up with shoes. (the blue and white caught my eye!) I asked if she would consider selling it...she consented with "make me an offer." :-) warm and pretty for our bed this winter!
blue and white - my favorite! (little thrift shop.)
This replaced a ceramic cow head by the back door. I was often bumping my head on it because it stuck out about 3 inches from the wall. Everyone here will appreciate this flatter dogcollar hook. -- Adding another splash of red to the kitchen... (habitat for humanity store)
These valances just happened to catch my eye as I was walking by the linens rack in Goodwill. They were spaced/hanging separately on different racks, but I knew that I could use them both now and in the future. For now...they are in the kitchen adding some more red, and replacing the overabundant blue and yellow. I'll show the before (which ALSO had come from Goodwill years back.) Hey...there's a pic of that cow-head!
BEFORE
NOW
For Future Use??? Remember this Waverly find from a previous post and a different store?? (1.50) These valances will also go very well in a room with this quilt when I become an empty nester and need to redo my guest bedrooms.... I am always moving things around in my house... "repositioning my feathers"
And tacking on one last item I just got yesterday @ my favorite little thrift shop. There was a 100% cotton high quality white blanket listed as full-size for $1.50.
I know the price of these types in the retail store, so I grabbed it. But surprise! when I got home and was putting it in the washer, I realized it was a KING. so instead of my kids getting it, I GET IT! That made the deal even sweeter knowing the retail value savings just went even higher. I love that store. :-)
Many of you know my habit of sticking a 10. in my wallet when I get my petsitting pay. I think it is a marvel what you can find in these resale/second time around shops. What's in YOUR wallet? Sprinkle some "Spandex Shopping Dust" in there and watch it stretch! {:-o
Thanks for visiting. It's been penny-pinching FUN! :-)

Hi Julie,
You certainly have some good finds. I only wish we had a nice Goodwill. And I love the color blue.
Thanks for sharing!

I agree with you, it is fun to watch others who are just getting the thriftin' fever. I've thrifted my whole life, and now it is "in". It does take hunting, but wow, what some people throw away! Love your finds.

Love, love, love the birdcage and the finials, especially.
Thanks for joining TST :)

Wow, that's a lot of great finds. I want to go with you next time. LOL
Wonderful finds. A couple of new thrift shops have opened up here this summer, so I plan to check them out when school starts and I don't have a kiddo tagging along.
I am lovin' the pinecone finial thingys. They worked really well on the column. Great finds all!
You got some great deals on some fun finds! Thanks for sharing!
What great thrifty treasures you have shared today! I have that same dog lead hook, I purchased at the thrift. And I love the birdcage. I can imagine with candles inside it would be gorgeous! Thanks for linking up, my friend!
Hugs!

Love the oil dispenser, I have one and use it to put my dishwashing detergent in.

The little diamond button on the sweater is my FAVORITE of all these lovely things.
