White Wednesdays

Once again....it's time for All things White on Wednesday... with Kathleen over at Faded Charm.
Check out her post today, along with all her participants here:

It pretty much goes without saying on this blog. If you see it here in a post, it's a given --- 98% of the time it was a thrift buy. I'm just sayin'...

cute birdie closeup. :-)

score...vintage pattern. small plates Goodwill - .39!

one of a pair of milkglass hobnail lamps that sat on this same dresser when it graced my Grandmother's bedroom. When I got the bedroom suit, getting the lamps was like icing on top!! So sentimental. I can still picture this same scene in her farmhouse...just like yesterday.

this piece my mom gave to me. She might have gotten it from one of my grandmothers. I'll have to check on that.... Fit in perfectly with the lamps.

This is under the glass on my dresser. This runner is one of 5 vintage runners that were in a bag along with napkins and lacework too. All of them were obviously done by hand. Such a delicate piece of work - every one of them. This beautiful hoop-skirted Southern Belle was my favorite, so I put it where I would see it every day. That bag was a STEAL at Goodwill about 5-6 years ago. It was all 1.99! I couldn't believe it!!! Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus and he leaves stuff at Goodwill!

That's all for today. Thanks so much for dropping by. It's been fun.
Blessings!
Julie

You have some lovely things! Seeing your milk glass lantern reminds me of one in my past, Your vintage runner was a lucky find for the runners. It is a shame that someone put these in GW. These are something I think should be handed down to other generations. Don't you wish you knew who stitched them? I am glad they went to a home that appreciated them. Thanks for sharing. Julie,
You amaze me with your thrift shop finds! Everything is lovely, but my personal favorite were the milk bottles in the wire carrier. Did you find those at Goodwill? I'm going to be contemplating moving to a different area just to find such "treasures" at thrift shops! lol It was fun visiting today.

When I was at the kitchen sink this morning, viewing the snowy view from my window, I was thinking about you and your family and how the excitement must be mounting at your home with anticipation of this weekend and the having your Marine home for a while. Praying for all of you.

Don't you just love thriftin? With all of our snow I can't get out to go treasure hunting and I am really getting cabin fever. Love all your pretty whites today.

Julie,
I just found your note you left me today and I needed to come right back here and thank you for sharing your heart with me today. Surely your ministry for the Lord is that of encouragement.

I was tickled to learn that the milk bottles actually came from your Grandfather's farm! Want to hear something neat? I grew up on a dairy farm! My parents, my two brothers and myself lived in the same home as my grandparents (my dad's parents). We lived upstairs and they lived downstairs. I have SO many wonderful childhood memories because of growing up close to my grandparents. One day I'll do a post on my blog about some of that...and a treasure I found that symbolizes some of that...only I'm sorry to say that it came from an antique shop rather than from my grandfather's farm.

Today has been special in friendship through the bonds of Jesus. Hugs to you!

I love all of your white, especially your hobnail pieces, that beautiful enamelware jug, and that cute wire napkin holder.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment. My grandparents had a beautiful Spirea bush, and it has always been one of my favorites!
