Creativity makes a Happy Homemaker...Thriftiness makes a Happy Husband!

In my last post, I stated that Creativity is the mother of Thriftiness.
In the post before that one, I stated that I love the saying of one of my favorite bloggers, The Nester..."It doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful."

Well, Nester is doing some giveaways this week that you can join in and grab a chance to win before Wednesday night. So hop over there and go for it.

Today's post just happened to catch my EYE!! She has some Wall Words Art up for a giveaway (courtesy of Vinyl Vineyard), and I am getting my comment in the hat.

I had a place in my front hall that recently lost a decorative arch due to an OOPS.
To read all about that, and understand the following photo, you can click on that link here:

Because of the location of that door, I had thought of putting Words over the doorway instead of hanging something else that might "fall". But when I priced them online and even at a Hobby Lobby sale, it just didn't cooperate with my budget right now. I am paying off a Vet bill for my sweet deceased dog, Sam, whom we just lost on May 15th. (Obviously I am WAY too adjusted to thrift prices.)

So yesterday, I got my willpower revved up, and decided to DO IT myself. I absolutely knew I wouldn't paint the words. My hands aren't as steady as they used to be...(sigh)....yes, I'm getting older, every day in every way.

I just decided to free-hand it, and if it turned out awful...then I could paint over it. Because I didn't use paint, I used...(shhh..a Sharpie) I know that's tacky. But it worked for me. My house isn't perfect, so what the hey.

Here's the final product, not perfect, but still...PRETTY. And it says to everybody that walks in my front door that God is intricately involved in the intertwining of all events of our lives that make up our "nest", our home, our family.

(bird is actually a stencil outline) I'm not that good!

So, needless to say, I would love to win an "authentic" vinyl wall art saying. Here's Hoping!!

And REMEMBER! It doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful. (The Nester)

AND MOST OF ALL, REMEMBER......

WE DON'T HAVE TO BE PERFECT TO BE BEAUTIFUL TO GOD! HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST MADE US PERFECT IN OUR FATHER'S EYES. PRAISE THE LORD, HE HAS DONE THE WORK FOR US THAT WE COULD NOT DO OR EARN.

The walls of a city are mentioned many, many times in the Word of God. They are it's protection and it's shelter, creating the haven from the enemy and the outside world...and culture.

Our visible walls of our houses and the invisible walls of our homes are the same thing still, today. We, as women in our roles of wife and mom should keep this fact ever present in our minds and hearts as we seek to build up our walls, strong in the goodness and faithfulness of the Lord.

"Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands." (Proverbs 14:1)

"See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me." (Isaiah 49:16)

God will bless all of our efforts on our house and its walls, and in our home and its spiritual walls when we do it ALL for HIS honor and glory.
