Cheesecake Testing and Tasting...

So for Christmas, one of my gifts from the youngest was this set of spring form pans.
Now, I know some reading this post may find it hard to believe, but I have never had a set before, and I have never made a bona fide cheesecake! 'Bout time, ya think?
**I'm sure Kam had some hidden motivation behind this gift... ;-)

Monday night, Kurt had class, and Kam had a basketball game out of town, so it was just me and the three caballeros left at the nest. I thought it would be a good time to do a first attempt with a Cheesecake recipe.

Here it is right out of the oven...

And, here it is with the cherry topping added...

And, here it is with the rim/side removed.

Right as I finished putting the cherry topping on, Da Man drove in, and he was delighted to try it for me. He gave it 2 thumbs up. Kam came in after 11:30, but gave a taste test too, and said it was good. so...Success!

I love to make or bake something new and have the men in this house do a review.

How about you!?

and yes...it's snowing again in Cedar Rapids...as for myself and the dawgs?...we are gonna stay in the burrow! This Southern girl is no dumb bunny when it comes to driving in this kind of stuff. I'll let the natives enjoy their roads...!

To da Marine in VA...stay warm on those cold nights outside!

Hugs to all stopping by. Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Yum! Put a piece of that in your freezer for me. Love your snow shots, too. The colder it looks outside, the cozier I know your sweet nest is inside.

Ugh...all that snow! Rainy and 60 here in Georgia :)

I do have those pans but never use them. I guess I don't make cheesecake very often. Your's looks delish!

Yay for you Julie, that is one gorgeous cheesecake! I wish I was there to get a taste of it too. And yay for the snow, I wish we could have some of it! Take care and stay warm and cozy! ;D

I saw your site on Julie Harward's site. Thought I would visit a few new blogs today. Your cheesecake looks divine! I live in the Seattle area (formerly of Florida/Texas) and was also looking at your snow posting. We are getting our first snow of the season here today. Tomorrow is supposed to be the big snow day. It is so nice to cozy up with a cup of something warm and a book on a snowy day by the fire. Looks like you enjoy that, too. Stay warm and have a great day. Kim @ Bluebirds and Butterflies

Oh, my gosh...you are way ahead of me. I have never owned a spring form pan, ever, let alone try baking a real cheese cake. Way to go!
I use the box thingies. And I do my own version of that, too.
That thing is so thick! I'll bet its gone, too.

I love the way Kam casually "hints" ;-)! Your cheesecake is beautiful, Julie dear. And, yes, I know how fun it is to make something "special" for hubby just because I know how much he'll enjoy it.

I've thought of Justin with these cold temperatures. Praying he is doing okay.

And once again, I have to say how much I love your street. It reminds me so much of the street Matt and Ellen live on.
