A Respite ...

Yesterday my daughter Kat and I took off mid-afternoon and had an outing together.
It was good. Good for the body. Good for the mind. Good for the soul.
She was supposed to work, but was given the day off. I was not working my usual Tuesday morning job with 3 year olds because of Easter week.
So we grabbed the time and RAN!

I love my girl. What would I do without my Kit-Kat in a world full of lots of testerone? :-) (love that too!, but girls gotta stick together!!!)

First thing we did was go see this super good movie (Dollar day at the theater ~woot!)

yeah I was sniffing through the movie. It was a great story (true).

Then we did a little shopping at Hobby Lobby and Michaels and Wal-Mart.

And then we popped into here...since I've never been there before:

and had some of this:

AND THEN... we both topped it off with one of their 40 shakes. I had blueberry cheesecake, and Kat got Banana Pudding. oh yeah...it was delish. (but my pants were starting to feel tight!!) {:-o

It was a wonderful respite from a lot of concerns and some worries this past week.
I thank the Lord for moments in life where we can step away, and fellowship with those we love, and get rejuvenated and recharged. And I am thankful for the memory to store in my heart and my online personal e-journal of time with Kat.

Thank you so much, those of you who stay in touch via this little blog, for your thoughts and prayers for me, my family, my mom's health, and my noble Marine.
Friends are precious.
God bless you all.

Oh Julie, you gotta have those girlie days:) Sounds like the two of you had a wonderful time. Our Spring break is next week and I am looking forward to it. Of course, I don't work but I take my oldest Granddaughter to school every day and will be hanging in every morning. Sometimes it is just nice to stay in! Hugs to you, prayers for all of you... especially for your Mom and that sweet Justin. Hope you get to hear his precious voice soon! Have a blessed day!

I'm so glad that you and Kat had a good day out together yesterday, Julie. Seeing the picture of the two of you on your front steps made me so homesick for my kindred-spirited daughter.

May you enjoy another day of God's wonderful love and grace lavished upon you this day!

Love and hugs coming to you,
Dianna

These are wonderful times for you. Before my youngest moved last spring to Texas I snuck in as many of these outings as possible. I knew the days were numbered and I had to relish every moment with her. The memories are now a cherished thing and they bring a big smile to my face.

Our children grow so quickly and find their own lives. Our mother's heart always longs for our little ones to remain close by, but reality brings a new season.

I'm so glad you had this day with Kat! I look forward to the next visit I get with my girls. 5 more weeks and I know at least one of them will be home...woohoo!!!

Kat... that's my future daughter-in-law's name, but I call her Kitty Kat. I'm glad you had a wonderful time with your daughter. Girls Day Out are so important to have, especially when it's with your daughter. I'll be having mine with Amber this afternoon. She and I are going to Athens for college shopping.

I pray you're doing well. Thank you for your love and support through this dark time I'm going through. I appreciate you so much! *hugs*

God bless!

Look at the two of you! How wonderful that you had a day with your daughter! Those days are few and far between after they head off to college. I will have both my kids home this weekend though and I am really glad about that!
